Cat Trouble
Cat Trouble
I don't mind feeding my cat, but I have a huge problem with the other two or three from my neighborhood that I'm feeding as well. I've come to truly hate these critters. Every night, at least two different cats show up to feast at the table of perpetual food.
Anybody have a creative suggestion to "train" these cats not to come back. I'm looking for non-lethal means - killing them is not an option! I can't get rid of my cat either. One friend said I should just pick up the food at night, but that's nearly as much fun as what we could come up with on this forum. I thought about rigging an electric fence wire to the cat food can. I'm pretty sure I could sell that video, but I'd have to put my cat up every night and she's not always around.
What about you, anything interesting you'd like to propose?

Can you put your cat up where he cant get out at night. If so I bought some big ars rat traps from the hardware store a few years ago to stop a simialr situation. Just put some sardines on em and leave em out. It want take many nights of gettn that nose busted to look for new grazen grounds!!

When it come's to duck calling and duck killing its the indian not the arrow!

Pour some syrup/molassass around the food mixed with juice from a habenero pepper . The cats simply cant stand sticky stuff on their feet, and when they go to lick it off it's very hot. Won't take long and this will solve the problem. Ever put tape on a cat's feet? Same concept with the syrup/molassas.
It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

You don't "train" cats. Think about it - dogs have masters and cats have staff. That's why I don't have a cat.Anybody have a creative suggestion to "train" these cats not to come back.
However, you'd better find some way of getting rid of the other cats, because if you don't, they'll keep coming AND BRING FRIENDS - some of which will be ferral (sp)!! And that will cause problems for your cat, your dog, your neighbors, etc. My suggestion is to put up your cat at night and call animal control if the other critters won't go home.
Nobody owes you anything.
