Last year we went to Stuttgart Duck Festival on the Friday after Thanksgiving. We left my friends house in central Ms. early that morning and came back that night. It made for a very long day. I called to see if we could get a room this year. Holiday Inn had a three day minimum stay . Best
Western Inn had no vacancies. Is there any other motels that I might try (one that you would stay at)? Jack

Ladduck, my wife and I did the same thing year before last. We had to stay in Pineville(I believe thats the name of the community). If I remember right it was about 30 to 40 min. just southwest of Stuggart. The highway was a strait shot to Stuggart. We stayed in a Hilton or Ramada in the middle of town. If I remember right as soon as you came into that town there was a nice looking Hampton (I believe). I hope this helps. You can get some jam up deals at Macks during the festival.

Thats Pine Bluff..... and at this late date that is probably your best chance at finding a room......

I would recommend that you stay in Pine Bluff. The rooms are cheaper that weekend and you won't have to worry about any vacancy problems. At least I didn't last year. I didn't even start calling until about three days before the festival and got a room there last year for $54. Each of the nice/clean hotels had vacancy, and they were about the same price.
I can't remeber if it was the Best Western or the Holiday Inn. It's only about 30-40 to Stuttgart from there. I found the phone numbers on the internet.

Wildfowler was the motel you stayed at near the mall. If I remember right I was thinking that it looked nice and easier to get to than the one we selected.

Dang, beat me to the draw again.
No I don't think we're talking about the same one Peewee. I ended up staying in a motel that's located kind of in the middle of the town. I think where you are talking about is closer to the NE edge of Pine Bluff which might save 5 or 10 minutes on your drive to Stuttgart.

Stay at the Hampton Inn in Pine Bluff. It is right on the bypass around Pine Bluff, and you can get right on 79 that takes you about 35 min. to get to Stuttgart from there. You will be passing some of the most Mallard rich timber in the world on the way. Have had many hunts of a lifetime in that area. I think that Hampton is about 70 or 80 a night, and it is clean.

Hey Feedcall, you're not kidding about seeing some beautiful duck land in that area.
Two or three years ago while driving back home from a hunt, it happened to be snowing. There is a cypress/willow looking brake just of the highway. I darn near drove off the road right into that brake watching the Mallards pouring into the hole with all the snow around.
Great looking spot!

There is a Super 8 across from the Best Western, they may not be booked. I would suggest going to the Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce site at stuttgartarkansas.com. There is a lot of helpful info there. There are a few roach motels in Stuttgart that are probably not booked. I think one of them is called Walker's Motel. I would go to the web site and contact someone at the Chamber of Commerce. They will be glad to help you find a room.
