blind material ?

I have a blind made out of metal w/ a mesh floor w/ a flip back top on both sides. it will be sitting in the woods on the edge of a field where we have always killed ducks my question is this. What are some good materials to use on it? I was thinking about putting some kind of netting around it and then putting some cain all over it (the netting would act as a back drop so that if you were able to look through the cain you wouldnt be able to see inside the blind) Also if you guys have any other suggestions or even some pics that I might could get an idea from that would be great. I'd use empty beer cans as camo.

we use metal sheeting on the sides of ours, gives the blind a little more structure. we then attach hog wire to it so we can have something to attach the brush to. the metal helps break the wind also. just slap some spray paint on it.

My experience has been that sheet metal makes your call echo. I'd think a canvas wind breaker would work better but prolly not last as long.

As for your "cane" idea, perfect if the treeline you're hunting is full of dead cane...best bet is to cut some of the natural growth found in that specific area. Limbs cut now with leaves will typically keep the leaves throughout the season.

The tree line is full w/ cane and where we use to hide was in a cane patch and thats where we are gonna set the blind

Find some old trampoline material (this is black and also works great as a windbreaker, we then take hog wire or dog wire and pu on outside and then cut limbs and sticks and zip tie them to blind, If you are able to leave in one place form season to season, we have fertilized natrual grouth around our blind and then any trees or bushes we just tie them so they will grow into blind as well.

Well, I guess we could have used full beer cans but that could get expensive. I also don't like the idea of wasting good beer.

We thought about putting burlap around ours and wrapping chicken wire around that to hold brush and stuff. I think the burlap might not smell real good on a hot day after a rain though. I have seen it get pretty hot anytime of the year.

here's one of my best kept secrets.

take you a few old square hay bales and throw set them around the blind, uproot some smartweed and stick down in the bales, and also throw some millet on em. next year you will have a blind that you dont have to brush!!!

What to do with empties....what do you do with the used beer in your system? PUT IT back in the can fella's, the cans wont blow over. Plus you have something to dip your calls in when the skoal clogs the reeds.


ReCycle we have plenty of landfills now.
