I do not want or need a debate on any other machine. I have personal experience with just about everything on the market except the mule. I love the idea of this machine with a lift kit and bigger tires. Has anyone hunted with one of these? Please don't respond if you have not hunted with one or talked to someone that has. I can see the pros of the vehicle, but worry about it in delta fields. And yes I know it is slow.

Within the Wildlife Bureau of the MDWFP we have about 7 or 8 of those Mules 4X4 w/ lift kits on most of them. I have to admit I was skeptical at first, but have been very impressed with it's abilities, despite low RPM's and low speed. It will do an excellent job in the Delta (first hand experience) and it pulls very well also. We have loaded one down with 4 people and pulling a 16' trailer with about 400lbs of gear, across a delta field on Mahannah and through water about 20" deep with no problems in Low range.

One machine has given us some water pump problems, since the day it was purchased. The others have been just fine.

It is a whole different animal with a lift kit and aggressive tires.

Can I have your four wheeler?

I have had to push one out of the mud with my Polaris. I was not about to get off and hook the winch up so i just pushed it out.

Guy I hunt with some has had one for goin on 5 years now. Other than typical servicing, I don't think he has had any problems with it. Older fella, and is pretty easy on his stuff.

It serves him great for what he uses it. Duck hole to and fro, then around the house some.

I had one and besides the fact it was like riding in an old buckboard wagon that had square wheels - it would jar the filling from your teeth - teh belt slipped when you got into water deeper than, say, about a ft deep. It was better on muddy roads than where a good fourwheeler might otherwise do much better. It doesn't hold a candle - power wise - to some of the other options available and I was glad when blackdog helped me get rid of it for what I had in it!

hunted with a buddy who has one last year...wasn't impressed with the power and had the same problem as DR2 with the belt drive tranmission slipping in deep water

Kenny my cousin has one at his farm in Ackerman and absolutely loves it, it is a very dependable machine and does fairly ok in the mud. By the way I enjoyed meeting and hunting with you last weekend take care of them little mexicans of yours and dont work them to hard

Thanks for the insight guys. As you can tell from bigbee's input, I'm leaning heavily toward the Ranger 700 but want to check out everything. These are the things I was looking for.

I have used a mule in the fields, year round, with few complaints other than the fuel system (that's the main reason it's 'slow' as you put it.) But since we finally got it to someone who knows what the H3!! he's doing when it comes to servicing one of those things, (ask Torch) I think it'll do whatever you ask of it.

P.S. - I hear tell that Torch is also the new Ranger Service Center in Booga Bottom as well.

I got the 700 Ranger and love it.
