While it is a moot point for this season, it is important in that he can attend JUCO classes this fall, and then enter UM for the spring semester. Since he was approved, he does not have to graduate from the JUCO before entering UM. He will have 5.5 years to play 4.
That is about all I can add as a consolation. Tough break for this kid. This situation was more about his high school and the classes offerred, than about the kid's performance. NCAA should have ruled on this before the admission deadline.
Perhaps these kids being delayed rulings should all start lawyering up and filing suits for injunctive relief for admission (temporary injunction) while the NCAA is pondering their admission ---ala Powe's strategy. I bet a multitude of these types of suits all over the country would cause the NCAA to gets its booty in gear or change the way it operates in this regard ---for the better.
