Another child was kidnaped and killed today.Mabey they should open season on child molester's.Say a prayer for the children and hold your's close.

I believe that what you are looking at is the same phenomina that happened with the school killings.

It's the press milking the stories so long that others who are in that frame of mind and capable of this kind of thing, a stastistical factual number in any population, are seeing it enough on TV that they too decide they are going to do it.

It's the same thing that happened with the school shootings. The media uses it to scare us all, horrify us to sell us goods, make the incidents much larger in our lives than they really are, and preciptating more of the same in the process, by giving men who are capable of this the ideas to do it.

I think this is one of the most disgusting things about our media system.

They are causing it, then reporting it to make money, and causing it again.

Ride the statistical train, and look us all in the eye and tell us they are doing us a favor.

It is truly sad and I wish that we could do something about it.

You dont hand a nut a loaded gun, we just dont put enough merit in the fact that knowledge is far more deadly than any gun that was ever made.

I think that the people who are doing these crimes are people who have never had any attention in their lives and they know that this is a good way to get attention threw the media.

Those awful things have always happened, The news 24-7. It takes alot of bad news to fill that space.
I can remember before cable, satilite and the net the only news was @ 12 noon and 6pm. You had 25 minutes of local and 5 minutes of world news.

hey old salt...i've been around here a while and have seen you come and go several times [img]images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif[/img] and this time i totally agree w/ ya...i've been thinking the same thing, i just can't figure out how to stop the media...i guess in a way you can't blame someone for trying to make a dollar but sheez, soon and i mean soon, someone is gonna have to stand up and say enough is enough...before the last nail is driven into the preverbial coffin...

It boils down to this if you think about it.

They know that when they broadcast that stuff, a small percentage will re-act the crimes.

You cant tell me they dont know this is going to happen. It happens with everything, and the way that they suck any story DRY of it's marketing ability, they are fully aware that it is going to cause more crimes.

When it does, they capitalize on them by continuing the run.

Thats ok with some things, but when it is kids being killed that keeps the run going, you could consider that murder, and because they know it's going to happen, it's premeditated murder.

They know they are going to kill a few when they do it.

And that right there is enough to stop the train if you ask me.

free speech is damn important, but using it to comit premeditated murder is something the guys who wrote that stuff didnt have in mind I gaurantee you.

Still the tobacco companies know they will kill a large percentage of their clients.

they exist because people have choice

In the media it's different, you turn on the TV this is what you get. You choice stops when you flip the switch.

In the same way that tobacco companies consider the deaths part of business, so do the media consider the deaths part of theirs, and with much smaller numbers than tobacco (and alcohol) they dont appear to be that bad on paper.

It's a nasty game.

I think they are responsible to notify the people that one killing effects, the local community. Nobody else needs to know that stuff, they only know it because they sell cars with it. I think a rquired radius for certain news stories should be imposed, only touching those that are truly touched with the crime in their own communities. leave the rest of us out of it because it only causes it to happen again.

That is wise and community oriented journalism.

I really cant stand the media anyway, they program us like wind up toys and control our lives and I just dont like them in the first place. Add killing our children to the mix is enough for me to say we need to do something about this, they are commercial interests making money on stastistical mortality and I think that should be against the law.

Cain killed Able, you can't change human nature. In this case knowledge creates the chain from one like minded killer to the next and the media provides it.

If you want to stop the killing, then break the chain because that's as close as you are going to get.

You will never stop the real nuts, but the penalties for such crimes should be so severe that it makes the semi-sane fruitcakes really think before they do these horrible things to children and women. For those of you who will shout that Christians shouldn't feel that way, read what Paul had to say about government and authority. We have gone so far over to the rights of the accused that criminals have no fear of the law or consequences. It's time for the law to work to protect those who do not break it!
