I have been kinda looking for a fullsize hollowbody, to replace the cheapo dreadnought I am learning on.

Maybe a Washburn like John Bell plays.

I have a Martin DCME but can't play for squat...I do enjoy trying though.

Les Paul '59 standard (one of my PRIZED posessions), Les Paul '64 Custom, SRV re-issue Strat, '73 telecaster. Don't play nearly as much as I used to, but still goof off about once a week or so. Lost my marshall stack in the storm, now just playin through an old Fender tube amp.

I've played for about ten years.

I bought a mid-grade Martin about four years ago after starting on a tinny souding Harmony. I mostly play at and for church, but I strum and pick some country every now and then. Playing with the group every week for the last few months has really improved my technique and timing.

I've got the Harmony strung Nashville style right now and it adds a lot to the church group. If you play in a group with more than one guitar, this is a great way to build more layers of sound into the music without learning another instrument or set of chord shapes. Sounds terrible by itself and doesn't pick well, though.

To tune Nashville style, the four bass strings are strung one octave high. Put on light gauge strings in the following order and tune to the normal note: D string in the low E position and tune to E, G in the A position and tune to A, B in the D position and tune to D, treble E string in the G position and tune to G. Use your normal B and treble E strings in their proper location. This makes the G string carry the highest note in most chord shapes. After you do this, you might need to have the neck adjusted slightly after a week or two of playing.

I have one that is 17 years old and it sounds better every time I re-string it....old guitars are better than a new one - the top vibrates better over time.

Randall head through a Marshall half stack, fender bassman amp with cabinet, and a rockman. One of these days I'm gonna get Mesa Boogie and a Fender Twin Reverb.

I play a little c-rock, blues, and some hard rock/metal. Love da blues da best.

Larrivee OM-03W walnut/sitka spruce with a Baggs iBeam pickup, mainly for fingerpicking and playing in church. Tacoma DM-10 mahogany/spruce dread with Baggs pickup, mainly for flatpicking bluegrass stuff. Also an old (pre-Korea) Kentucky KM-700 mandolin.

I've always wanted a SRV edition Strat for some reason, not even for learning how to play.

It's neat to have, but depressing that no one will ever make it sound like him playin it.
