Anyone in the Starkville area...

Postby greenheadgrimreaper » Tue Jul 25, 2006 4:34 pm

Doin any training? I got a few guys who can throw for me alot of the times but I'd like to know if anyone in the area is training during the week? Also if you know of ANYONE that lives in this area that has land preferably with a body of water on it that is out in the country so I can fire blanks, please let me know. I am in serious need of new training grounds. PM me if you got any info.

This is what a dog board and a dog club is supposed to be about. People with like minded intrests that are close can get together in satellite groups. Its takes a group, period. I got all the equipmeent in the world, Id still rather have people to train with. And land is also an issue for most everyone.

Blanks and the country isnt a problem. Buy you some days end poppers that use primers only and you can reload with the tool that comes with kit. I shoot a shotgun within site and sound of i40 in memphis every day, never an issue with the primers. Sometimes you might have in issue in a park or something that has other users, but you can safely without problems shoot primers in town anywhere nobody else is. The sherrifs have come out several times when we're training, and watched, and never had a problem with the guns when we showed them the bullets we're using. travis

I would like a training day. How much land and what type of terrain do we need to get one up?

Goose where can i get some poppers? I need to start working with the shotgun before dove season gets here.

That'd be a good idea if we could get some Stark folks up and train during the week.

I have got some land with 1 small pond, one larger pond and a water hole that should offer some pretty good set ups. The ponds are on 82 acers, some of which is timber but i do have some in pastures with hills sides and flat land. My dog is young but we could get together some nice set ups. I also may have access to some other ponds and land, i will just have to do some checking.

I work for the university so i could do some training a few days a week in the evenings.

Let me know who might be intrested and we will see what we can get together.

Duck Chaser,

Yeah, I know he needs to run some HT this fall, but as you can tell by how long it has been since I responded, I haven't been working him. I do need to get started training again and would be glad to meet you sometime and train when I have the extra time. Just let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Thanks

hey greenhead i know of some good areas around starkville to train at... thats all me and my buds did last year, we'd go to either south farm or north farm to train and would switch it up each week to get the dogs use to new surroundings. I dont know if u have met them or not but Noah Brumfield and Todd Kennedy both buds of your couzin Bob both have two outstanding dogs. I learned alot from them last year working with them. Whenever everybody gets good and settled in this year for school, we'll all get together and pick up with the training again. But like i said feel free to come over across the lake whenever and we'll take our pups out to train. Here's my cell 601-917-4987
