Interesting that Tide fans are now so obsessed with Coach O and UM. In the past, they always tried to infer that UM was so insignificant that they never even thought about UM until perhaps the week before a game. Now, they apparently have a website dedicated to a Coach O watch. Too funny.

But for a late 4th quarter third and long conversion by Croyle, and a missed chip shot field goal by UM, UM would have beaten the Tide last season in Oxford ---with one of our worst teams in the last 20 years. The game was a nail biter. So, Shula and staff is maybe a tad better than last year's UM staff with its internal problems. Now THAT is a ringing endorsement of Shula.

Until O proves that he can win on the football field and not just in the recruiting trails, he will continue to be the laughing stock of the SEC. Step back for a second and look and listen to him compared to any other coach in a BCS conference school. Even Ole Miss folks have to honestly admit he is a little abnormal. His demeanor amongst the "refined" persona many of the Ole Miss faithful attempt to portray is an odd combo, period. He is a dump truck parked at a BMW dealership.

The obsession with O by Bama and LSU and State and the rest is analogous to the obsession with the little asian guy from American Idol a few years back that sang the Ricky Martin songs. :D It is not that they are paying attention to Ole Miss so much as they are watching the side show.

ok ok --- I give up ---its hopeless

this is my last post in defense of or even trying to explain anything about Coach O to anyone on this board -- he will be ridiculed, no matter what -- justified or not, matters not ---none of you are going to change your minds --- most had their minds made up about Coach O before he was even hired at UM

the only thing that really matters is success on the field, and we will just have to wait and see how things shake out this season and the next

I won't waste any more board space ---you guys knock yourselves out

Don't give up Po Monk -- it's all in good fun on my behalf -- you could easily say many bad things about Les "wins" Miles on my end. :D

Nope, I concede defeat ---all you guys are right. Ed is an idiot ---perhaps the worst head coach ever in the SEC after only one season, and crazier than Houston Nutt. The "laughing stock of the SEC". All the stories you read in the newspapers and on the internet are all true. UM will probably not even win a game this season. None of Ed's recruits will qualify, and even if they do, and one or two slip through the cracks of the NCAA clearinghouse, then either a) UM cheated and will be on probation, b) they weren't any good anyway because Ed doesn't know a thing about talent or recruiting, or c) they are too stupid to play football. Either way, UM's recruiting is a farce and the Rebs will field the least talented team this season in SEC history. Any returning players with any talent at all will either quit the team, or just simply quit playing 100%.

With the dubious distinction of being the worst coach, having the worst staff, and having the worst players in the SEC, then it seems it would be an outright disgrace for ANY team in the SEC to lose to UM this season ---so much so that such a coach should be fired on the spot for such incompetence. I mean, how low can you go if you can't beat Ed? And, god forbid should UM finish higher than any other team in the league. How embarassing would that be? Again, grounds for immediate dismissal. Such will become the measuring stick for immediate dismissal in the league this season ---losing to UM or finishing behind UM in the standings.

So there you have it. No more defending the guy coming from me. You guys have convinced me of the error of my thinking. UM should finish the season 0-12, the worst season in UM football history, with Coach O being shown the door by season's end. I am giving away my season tickets and will take up watching real football teams in the SEC , who have much, much better coaches and recruiters than Coach O ---all from the comfort of my living room and air conditioning. I am looking forward to seeing these true masters at work. It should be an interesting year for all except UM, as we already know our fate. ED is dead.

I can't believe the eternal optimist is giving up. You almost had me convinced that Crazy Ed was the second coming of Woody Hayes. Now go ahead and keep polishing that turd.

Being "obsessed" and "ridiculing" are two different things.

Without Orgeron, you're still just Ole Piss.

With Orgeron, your're still just Ole Piss but with a meathead, goofy coach.
