Collecting Old Duck Calls

Postby Bent Barrell » Wed Jul 10, 2002 4:51 pm

I have been collecting duck calls since I got my first one. I have accumulated some very old (early 1900's) calls, some have sold at auction for $2,300! I had an Uncle that ran a general store near Lake Bruin, they closed it in the late 60's. When he passed away (1975) Dad and I got to go in (20 years later)we found a time warp of sporting goods still in the boxes, top water lures, calls, shotgun shells, clothes, etc. Do any of you collect or know where I can purchase old sporting goods. I am building a house and one room is going to be made like an old sporting goods store and I want to keep adding to it. Pisses the wife off, but she loves me..... you might check on ebay or yard sales. My brother-in-law found a brand new 1950 reel still in the box never been used salt water fishing reel @ one. Germantown has the big one in Sept if I'm not mistaken.
