A year or so ago I think it would have had more of an impact, but after two super regionals I would like to think we wouldn't have to do as much going after alot as I hope alot would be coming to us now. Dunno

OLE MISS
Baseball coach Mike Bianco found his new recruiting coordinator last Thursday, hiring former South Alabama assistant Rob Reinstetle to replace Dan McDonnell.
Now, it's time for Reinstetle to get to work.
Ole Miss began putting Reinstetle's recruiting skills to the test Saturday, the first day coaches were permitted to call seniors for the class of 2007. Bianco said finding an assistant coach in time for the July 1 recruiting period wasn't one of his priorities, but a completed staff should make the transition easier.
"Certainly there was a sense of urgency where we don't want this to prolong," Bianco said. "But we weren't going to rush if we weren't sure of the right guy. If we had to do more interviews and spend some more time researching, we would have. But we felt this was the right guy and didn't want to prolong it any more."
Reinstetle was the recruiting coordinator at South Alabama last season. He also worked as the assistant recruiting coordinator at the College of Charleston (2003-04), helping recruit players who led the school to an NCAA Super Regional appearance last month.
Reinstetle is in a similar situation as McDonnell, who was hired by Bianco in June of 2001. Behind McDonnell, the Rebels put together a 2000-01 recruiting class ranked sixth in the nation by Collegiate Baseball. Ole Miss had three top 10 classes during McDonnell's six-year tenure.
"Dan McDonnell did an absolutely wonderful job recruiting here and that's a huge reason why they've been so successful," Reinstetle said. "That's how I came to know Dan and respect him, out there recruiting.
"My goal is to come in here and pick up where he left off and continue to help build this thing up."

Actually, the fact that we had coaches in demand by other schools is a good thing. It means the UM baseball program is on the right track.
McDonnell is an excellent recruiter. He was just hired as the new head coach at Louisville. Prior to this opportunity, he had turned down other offers in the past to leave UM to become a head coach.
The new coach hired to replace him, from South Alabama, appears to be a good one.
Only time will tell if losing McDonnell hurts the program. But, I don't think it will. Bianco knows what he is doing.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ole Miss Baseball Coach Mike Bianco tabbed South Alabama Recruiting Coordinator Rob Reinstetle to take over the duties occupied by Dan McDonnell, who is now the head coach at Louisville after serving with the Rebs the past six seasons.
Bianco said Reinstetle will be the Rebel recruiting coordinator, hitting coach, infield coach and will handle third base coaching duties in games.
Rebel Hitting Coach Stuart Lake has resigned his position at Ole Miss to pursue another baseball opportunity. Pitching Coach Kyle Bunn and Coach Carl Lafferty will remain on Bianco's staff, but both will be promoted a "notch."
We will interview Bianco and Reinstetle as soon as possible on the hire and coaching changes. The following is Reinstetle's bio from South Alabama's web site prior to the 2006 season:
Rob Reinstetle enters his first season as an assistant coach for the Jaguars. Reinstetle serves as the teams recruiting coordinator and is responsible for coaching the infielders and hitters.
Prior to his arrival at USA, Reinstetle served two seasons as an assistant coach / hitting instructor at the College of Charleston. Reinstetle orchestrated the Southern Conference’s top offensive teams in 2004 and 2005.
In 2005, the College of Charleston led the country in 2005 batting with a .355 mark as a team. During the 2004 season, Reinstetle’s hitters finished second in the country with a .341 team batting average and set a school and Southern Conference record for runs scored with 553. For the first time in school history, the Cougars had five players reach the 50 RBI plateau. Reinstetle also had three players exceed 100 hits in a season.
In 2003, Reinstetle served as assistant coach/ recruiting coordinator at Okaloosa-Walton Community College. He helped OWCC to a 43-13 record and a second place finish in the Florida Junior College Regional Tournament. Under the guidance of Reinstetle, the OWCC offense led the state of Florida in batting .349 and doubles 138. Reinstetle came to OWCC after one season as an assistant coach at the University of Cincinnati.
Prior to his stint with the Bearcats, he served as an assistant coach at Ohio Dominican College in 2001, where he helped lead the Panthers to the NAIA World Series in Lewiston Id.
After earning his undergraduate degree from Ohio Dominican in 1999, he spent two years serving as an associate professional scout for the Los Angeles Dodgers, while coaching American Legion baseball in Upper Arlington near his hometown. Reinstetle received an Associates of Arts degree from OWCC in 1997 and also played for the Raider baseball team from 1995-97.
