Seemed to be confusion so I called Jackson.
The "card" style license will follow, BUT, you'll have to have both the card and the paper thing to deer hunt with, but not duck hunt with, unless you've already stuck your state duck stamps onto the "state stamp" square location of the paper thing.
So don't stick any stamps on the waxed paper thing, wait for the Sportsmen Card, cause you can still put them on there.
Maybe you other guys who already have the card just purchased a small game license?
Thanks for the website Anatidae, pass me a tissue.

Maybe i need to check and see if i need the paper one because i do bowhunt for deer before the duck season. All i have now is the card.
My renewal was for a sportsmans license, not a small game license.

Tele-Check will be a big hassle and isn't worth fooling with, IMHO.

when i was a youngster, my granpa give me a laminated 100 bill and told me to hunt when and where-ever i wanted too... just give it too the warden and go on...... still got that 1960 bill.... and yea, i have bought a license or two since then....
the warden checked my license and asked me why i hadn't signed the stamp.... i told him that i had duck hunted for 40 years and this was the 1ST year i had ever bought a stamp......{i didn't know better}

Well, I knew it would get here sometime. I'm talking about the day I'd have to fool with that TELE-CHECK business. This is the stupidest thing they've come up with in a long time. One of those Einsteins told me that this "program" would'nt cost anything to implement. He needs to go to Washington and teach congress how to have more beauracracy at no cost to taxpayers. It's getting to be such a hassel to go to the woods, no wonder the number of licenses sold is dropping. I think i'll do my deer hunting in Alabama.

Hey landscraper if you have a lifetime licenses then all you have to worry about is buying duck stamps and that is it. Thats even if you go deep sea fishing on the coast as long as you stay in the mississippi waters. Other than that dont worry about anything. Glad I got mine

You don't have to worry about the paper if you just send a check in for the sportsman license. Just taking them forever to get mine delivered.

Cephous, I think you'll get the paper then the "card" or vice-versa but you'll still get both, I think?
You will still need the paper for reporting deer, at least thats what the told me when I called Jackson MDWF&P.
Most of us wrote checks (I did) and thats what happened.

Well my paper license came today. I called Jackson to complain as I have gotten a sportsman card since they started and this paper thing won't last 5 minutes around here. Must be a lot of complaints cause i've called jackson several times before but today I was on hold waiting for the next available representive to answer my call for over 20 minutes and gave up. Now if I wore a suit, worked in a nice clean A/C office and kept my wallet in my coat it might not get messed up but being in the enviroment I'm in and all, this thing will be trashed and stuck together and unreadable in no time. Wish I had read this first as I was a DA and stuck my stamp on the paper so I wouldn't misplace it. Oh well.

If you've already stuck your stamp on the paper license, don't sweat it. Just buy a new stamp. They don't cost that much and I'm sure it would help out the MDWFP. I'm sure we've all met one of those "old timers" who say they always buy two sets of stamps each year. This year I am going to become one of those old timers and purchase a second set of stamps. Man, those were the good ole days!! Can't believe I haven't thought of doing that before now.
I haven't gotten my license yet, so I don't know exactly what ya'll are talking about. But if the paper license is anything like what they issue in LA or AR to out of stater's, I can assure you that it is extremely durable and waterproof.
Just a thought.
