lots of talk out there.... lots of rumor..... here's some in support of him staying in Oxford..... he is the face of Ole Miss baseball, he has the potential to build HIS empire here, and not be in the shadow, and he's well on his way to doing that.. This is HIS program.... He won the SEC tourney championship here, and the stadium expansion is on the way, it won't be THE biggest, but it will definitely be one of the nicest in the nation, it won't be small however, somewhere in the neighborhoodof 5-6.5k.....not to mention new baseball coaches offices and a continued commitment to baseball. He has shown that we can draw 4k to games and over 9k to superregionals..... his pay is comparable to everyone else' in the SEC, believe he's 4th at the moment, that was before any type of raise he might have recieved by winning the tourney last weekend....Mrs. Bianco loves oxford, as well as their 5 children. She has said wants them raised there. They also just built a very large house. Last year, Bianco said he would rather his assistants get the pay raise than him. LSU overlooked him 5 years ago when they hired Smoke.... and lastly, we learned our lesson with tubberville, don't expect us to just lay down and let another school come in and take our coach......

He's not going anywhere, doesn't need all the BS that will be hovering around in Baton Rouge.

Word I'm getting is that if they fire Smoke, Jim Wells will get the job at LSU. That would lead to who would replace Jim Wells at Alabama. John Cohen (Kentucky) and his wife were born and raised in Tuscaloosa.......it will be interesting.

LSU fans can't stand Jim Wells, so I don't see it happening. Also, Jim Wells has a very good program going at Bama. Why would he want to possibly take a step down to built back a LSU program? As for Cohen, he's built a program at UK that has taken a couple of years less than what he predicted and won't be leaving anytime soon unless one job becomes available, and that job is at MSU.

I think Bianco is going to be at Ole Miss for a long time. The expectations in BR are way too high and I say that as an LSU fan. If you don't make it to the world series and win a game or two every year with a championship thrown in the mix ever three years or so, you are a loser. LSU will be hard pressed to find a big name replacement IMO. Smoke will be gone though.
I think it will be a while before LSU is a power on a national level in baseball. They lost 8 seniors off of this year's team.

I'm a State fan, but LSU has got to be the premier program in the country. They are about to get a brand new stadium, a big fan base, and they have unlimited scholarships. You have a legitimate chance to win a NC at LSU, where you're chances are limited at Kentucky, Alabama, and Ole Miss. Security doesn't drive these coaches and athletes, otherwise, they would find high school jobs. It's like saying a great athlete would rather go to play football at Memphis State for playing time, or is he going to want to go to the University of Tennessee for all the previous stated reasons. Again, the biggest issue / attraction is that you have unlimited scholarships at LSU that you don't have at Alabama, Ole Miss, or Kentucky......make the offer to any of these guys and they are gone......but it will be Jim Wells.

I think that Bianco knows it is better to reign in hell than serve in heaven.
No way he goes to LSU not that I don't want him cause I do but they passed him over for Smoke and he has now proved that he can win with anybody if he can win at Ole Miss.

I think bianco has proven he's got just as good a chance of winning at ole miss as he does anywhere....he could easily make a good run at it this year the way they have played as of late, besides why the hell would he want to go down and be Bertman's puppet and put up with all his chit. It would be like raffo as a head coach and polk the AD. To me why would you leave an established program on the rise to go deal with all that down there. You don't have to be a big school to be a baseball powerhouse, MSU proved it, and so has Rice and Tulane. If he goes to LSU no one will remember his name when he's gone if he doesn't stay for twenty years and will always be compared to Bertman as the lesser of the two, but if he leads Ole miss to the promise land then he will be immortal in Oxford, MS forever.

I agree, Bianco stays put in Oxford. Why leave, He's making more money than Smoke, getting ready to move into a REAL NICE home, and the future looks bright for him there with no pressure.
Coming back to Baton Rouge would be a mistake. That's a pressure cooker, few coaches will jump into.

Anyone got links to renderings of LSU's new stadium and OleMiss's renovations. I can get a generic idea concept of the new expansion of Baum but I'm hearing that it may just get larger, they are also now planning to build the new Razorback Foundation HQ in the corner of the left field area . Its really something, i've been looking at all the various minor league parks on barkparksofbaseball.com and most don't come close to what we have now.
I hear that the Nebraska coach is purty good.

i've got some pics of the proposed addition to swayze in oxford, however, it's meeting much dissatisfaction with fans at the moment who think we need to add more general admission seating....
