Elon University is a 1-AA school from outside of Greensboro, NC. They play in the Southern Conference, which also includes Georgia Southern, Citadel, Furman, and Appalachian State (among others). Lest you think a 1-AA school is going to be a pushover, the Southern Conference is a pretty damned tough baseball conference.

They're riding a pretty good streak, winning 20 of their last 25. The Dogs drew a tough regional, but that's what happens when you're Team 64.

:D :D :D

lower 14 div 1-aa only applies to football.. theres no div 1-aa in basketball or baseball.. and no.. i by no means would assume that they would be a pushover...

hell at this point jackson prep could prolly give state a helluva a game..

Elon will be no pushover, played several top teams during the season and hung with them, even won 2 or 3.

I'll get some stats and info when I get a chance. Here's some info on State's 25 man roster for the postseason.

The post-season roster is missing two injured Dogs, both pitchers. Righthanded starter Matt Lea will not throw again until next fall to rest the shoulder hurt back on April 18. And righthanded reliever Mike Valentine is out after developing shoulder soreness in mid-May.
