#3 MSU vs. #2 Elon
Elon is no pushover by any means. I'll try to look up some stats to see what they've got.

How in the world does MSU make the tourney and LSU not since LSU had the better SEC record and actually won a game in the SEC tourney? That makes absolutely no sense. Oh well as I have said all along they had no future in the tournament.

LSU played one more sec game than State did, which put LSU into the tourney. LSU losing two to Fla that last series hurt them, whereas MSU beat Fla twice. You put State up against LSU head to head for the last sec bid, MSU is the far better team. LSU needing to win some games like Vandy did to get that "guaranteed" bid.

I did a little researching, and here is what screwed LSU.
Stanford
UC Irvine
San Diego
San Francisco
LSU's RPI of 37 was better than all of these.
The NCAA needed to add some west coast teams for the Cal St, Pepp and Oregon St regionals to fill in the spots to make more money.
It's just like the NCAA basketball tournament. You have some teams that win their conference tournaments that wouldn't have gotten a bid, plus the ncaa giving the conf champ an at-large. The NCAA never takes the 'best' teams to compete in postseason play in any sport. They have to be more "politically" correct in giving some schools bids that don't deserve them because of their lack of competition in their respective conferences.

IF politics are involved there is no way LSU should have gotten overlooked. What school put college baseball on the map in the 90's? If there was any politics involved, LSU should have made the tourney. However I think politics is for the birds, it should be who deserves to be there that matters.

True, but lets look at this from another standpoint.
Skip Bertman is the chair of the selection committee. MSU makes the tourney, LSU doesn't..............but LSU gets the regional bid. Even though Skip would have no say in LSU getting in, MSU fans would be saying different, just like what the LSU fans are saying about LT.

and on top of what was said in a previous post, lsu didnt just win one game in the sec tourney, the beat the number one seed and the number six team in the nation, not a state fan, not a lsu fan, so from a point of veiw where i could give a $#!+ less about either one, LSU GOT SCREWED, MSU IS LUCKY, the only way i was thinkin state should be able to get in was if the sec got the eight teams in for the tourney, state didnt deserve to get in with lsu sittin at home, bottom line.........
now im sure state fans will scratch up info givin reasons why state should go and lsu shouldnt, but by the same sheet of paper lsu fans can get info on why lsu should go and state didnt, lsu took to out of three from the number one seed in the regular season too, what did state do, if im correct they either lost two of of three or got swept, not sure, but either way theres a point for lsu fans, i really dont care either way just sayin lsu got screwed.........

if they would have truefully got what was comin to them then they would have gotten a chance to keep playin baseball, now, once again i dont like lsu, never have, and i would have loved to seen them get left out, that is on a year where they truely sucked, they are not the typical lsu team, but they still should have gotten a chance.........

OK, same senario back in 2003. Vandy is 27-28 and makes the sec tourney over Florida. Florida had a much better overall record.
Vandy didn't get a bid, but Florida did. Did Vandy get screwed? The answer is no because of their overall record, not their sec record.
Just because you make the sec tourney doesn't necessarily guarantee you a spot in a regional.

clemson is the number one overall seed so they had to announce them first.. my question is since clem. was the number one seed does that mean that we were the last # 3 seed.. in other words the ncaa thought we were better than all 16 number 4 seeds but the lowest of the 3 seeds??
does this make sense ??

This happens about as much as somebody hitting more homeruns than Babe Ruth.
