HOOVER, Ala. — The NCAA baseball selection committee awarded Ole Miss with one of the 16 Regional host sites Sunday.
It is the third straight season the Rebels (39-20), who are playing in today's Southeastern Conference championship game against Vanderbilt, have been named regional hosts.
Ole Miss earned the selection by winning eight of its last nine games - including three straight in the SEC Tournament - heading into today's championship game.
The Rebels were one of five SEC teams named regional hosts, joining Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas and Kentucky.
NCAA Regionals begin Friday and run until next Monday.
Ole Miss will know the three teams that will play in its regional at Oxford-University Stadium when the 64-team field is announced tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. The NCAA Tournament's eight national seeds also will be announced Monday.
