FYI
It's looking like it may be at worst, a 45 day season. I haven't been able to get any reliable info on how bad the conditions really are in Canadian pothole region. I think that some of the region has gotten a soaking recently, but it is too late to help this nesting season.
FYI
I was in Prestigo, WI on Monday and Tuesday and they had got a soaking for a few days from what they told me. Everything was very wet with lots of standing water. They also had lots of baby ducks and baby geese following their moms around. Their were alot of drakes feeding in the flooded grain fields. After talking to a few duck hunters up there, everytime their first coment was "you guys got that long season down there". and they always wanted to know if it made any difference. I always told them that we did not see any ducks until January anyway, but if they wanted to take advantage of it come on down, we all live un the same country!
