Bird Flu

I not sure if I have seen this topic come up yet but it needs to be talked about. It is very sad that duck hunting one day could become an extinct tradition. If the prediction that bird flu does come to the U.S., what would my follow duck hunters due? I myself would have to give up something that started almost 10 years ago. So if the bird flu did come to the states, would you give up duck hunting or risk dying?

I seriously doubt many would die from it. The deaths reported worldwide are mainly from poor poverished countries with sub-par or no medical help or areas far from treatment facilities. I might not eat them but that would bring up another moral issue of wanton waste. Definitely wouldn't let the dog pick them up. On a good note we might get to use lead again.

It is not about relaxing or watching to much TV... You have to look at the numbers. Over half the people that have it have died. You can be as macho as you want but the fact is it COULD be a problem.

Yes over half of them have died, because they were not treated! Their doctor was probably some mombo jombo witch doctor that gave him some guano to rub on his head. They also have millions of cases of polio in these countries. THe US has had 7 cases of polio in 2 years and that was due to illegal immigrants. Not really, I just hate illegal immigrants.

30,000 young and elderly die from the flu every year in the US anyway

If it gets bad enough for the Feds to yank the season, nobody's gonna be thinking about duck hunting anyway. Take it to the bank.
