I am not proud of a Delta boy going to damned LSU! He shoulda stayed his booty in his home state and represented MS at Ole Miss or State, hell even So Miss! Just my opinion...

Does Polk have something against MPSA kids? I am just asking, I am sure that there are plenty of MPSA guys that have played there that I can't remember or am not aware of. I know Richard Lee was from JA back in the 90s and he had a good career.

well, hes got at least two on the team now, crosswhite from mra and mclaskal or however u spell it is from ja, im not for sure but i think thats all, i dont think hes got anything against mpsa boys, just dont recruit alot of them, i know he has never thought much of juco boys until the last fews years anyway, i think thats where ole miss picks up and usm picks up alot of ground is in the juco and mspa area............

Yeah...baseball is baseball in my experience. There is a huge difference in 5A or 3A public football for that matter and AAA MPSA football but I believe baseball is different. Delta State has done quite well with MPSA guys over the years if I am not mistaken. Many good academy teams could hang with or beat many good public school teams. The obvious difference is enrollment size and the pool of athletes from which you can draw. Obviously Pillow Academy, who probably graduates 85 people in a class, is going to run into trouble with Northwest Rankin or Madison Central based on enrollment alone. However, Louis Coleman would have given them a nice shot at winning last year against either of the two aforementioned teams.

If they don't come from Parklane Aca, Polk won't look at them too much for some reason.

I would say that Pillow graduation 85 in a class is overstate. I would think that it is more around the 50 mark or at least it was when I was there.

And i am not even going to comment on Parklane and Polk

We played in the MPSA for a while back in high school. Actually won state football my sophmore year. I went to Tallulah Academy and graduated in 95 with 30 people. Had my last track meet at Pillow Academy. Definitely a difference in football and basketball, but baseball is a different sport.

MPSA is represented all right in the D 1 level right now, Michael Wakefield was on Olemiss for several years till quitting this year he went to Ja, Logan Power hit a homerun the other day went to Hillcrest, Mcaskil for state who went to Ja, Jo Jo Tan who played at Prep who is now at Olemiss, Thomas Flautt who is now on the Olemiss team was at Ja, and then you have the Central Private boys and Coleman and I'm sure more im just not naming, also Polk screwed one of my friends this year on the team so i dont know what his deal is against private school boys.
