WILDFOWL MAGAZINE-DELTA WATERFOWL

Postby TMoore » Tue May 28, 2002 6:16 pm

There is a very good article in the most recent Wildfowl magazine (June/July) concerning nesting habitat and how Delta Waterfowl is helping with trapping predators around waterfowl nesting areas.

Damn water of course !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My son and I will be making this same trip in the next 10 days, spending two weeks in the Prairie Pothole Region of North Dakota and Canada. This will include Devil's Lake and Cando with Rob Olson and other research personnel with Delta Waterfowl. We will also head to Portage la Prairie, MB and spend about five days at Delta Waterfowl research facility there.

One other area outside of Bismarck is Chase Lake where a project called Chase Lake Prairie Project initiated in 1989.

We look forward to this trip, I plan on taking as many photo’s as possible… taking 100 rolls of film, plus video. I look forward to sharing these photos with you when we return.

sounds like a great trip Webfoot.. maybe you can bring us back a little good nesting news... i'm afraid that won't happen...
the woodie hatch looks good in my area... i was plowing just before dark and the woodies were streaming in like black-birds.. had to shut the tractor down and just watch...
