always nice to lay the smack down on our breathern to the east..

what a big win for this msu team.. playing without jamal or slater. and to still win by 13..

i like the way our team has finished this year.. we've got a group of young players who;;; if they stick together, and pick up another player or two along the way..

i think they will be in a poistion to make some noise next season..

i'm very proud of this team.. i would like to see them win a game in the sec tourney, secure a spot in the nit and then win a couple in the nit//

very proud of the dawgs indeed

I agree Big. If we had one more big guy to help Rhodes we can be excellent next year. No trouble makers. The Delk boys have come into their own as well as Gordon and Rhodes.

For anyone at the game -- did you see Got-fried in that hideous crimson blazer? Haha, someone in the third row caught that thing when he called the timeout capping the 8-0 run we started the game with and threw it behind the bench. Never saw it again. Freaking classic. That guy is a class AAA butthole.

Bammer announcers before the game noted that "we SHOULD win the game" then changed the tune to "we had nothing to win and MSU had nothing to lose." Again, classic! Anyone who believes that has no clue about the hatred the aforementioned coach has for State and Stans.

I think the hatred only lies within State fans and the inferiority complex towards Alabama they've had for years....in everything. Not just BBall.

Oh well, you'll have plenty of time to reflect on the jacket and how mediocre your basketball program is while waiting on that NIT bid...if you're lucky.

Man, some of you are bitter. Seek help.

What part of my post implies bitterness? I love sports, rivalries are great -- and when a coach of a nearby school hates your team -- well that adds to it. In all honesty, your post sounds more bitter than mine. I don't like coach Gottfried, but I am far from bitter about anything. It is college hoops, a topic which I am fairly passionate about -- that is all.

My opinions of Gottfried stem from a couple of specfiic events:
1) Bringing up Mario Austin's 9th grade transcript issues to the NCAA after Bama thought he was staying in-state and then lost him to us.

2) Having starters in against us while up 40 pts last year. This clearly exhibited his opinions of State's program. However, I will admit that I would have enjoyed it had I been on your side. What a display!

Now, to a State fan these things are not pleasant to experience, and so add to the rivalry. I am excited about beating you guys, let me be that way.

BTW, mediocre is pretty respectable when you start as many underclassmen as we do. Nice little jab with that middle paragraph. However, if you knew much about our team you would know that our mediocre players were not even able to play. We still beat ya!

We'll see how much practice time Bama foregoes with a strong NCAA tourney showing. My guess is not much.

Congrats.

Theres plenty, baseball, basketball, track and field, and for the women folk the gymnastic team thats pretty decent.

Looking forward the NCAA Indoor Track championship thats seemed to have found a home here.

Be bitter, I care not.

Theres a good chance that the Razorbacks will be in the top 25 Basketball Poll this time tomorrow. I want at least two wins in the SEC tournament. and a round of 16 from them.

And thank you, Ole Miss, after losing to you, this team decided that enough was enough.Ain't nothing like hitting rock bottom to start helping yourself and not depend on others to do it.

You're right. I'm bitter and jealous of the rich tradition and pride that is Mississippi $tate basketball.

Sounds like you are bitter about a few things: the jacket, the announcers, Mario Austin, keeping starters in, etc.

You named em, not me.

Be a gracious winner, quit crying about Gottfried, and carry that passion to the first round of the NIT.

And before you start practicing your "haha Bama lost in the NCAA tourny" post, let me point out you must not know much about our 7 scholarshiped player team. If you would have told me after losing Chuck Davis we woul have 10 wins, I'd said you were nuts. In all likelihood we wont go far...but its better than sitting at home.

Let me just add how jealous and bitter I am of the Arkanas indoor track team.

It's going to make a rough Sunday night of sleeping.

9 to 10 thousand show up for the track meets, alot of sec basketball schools could be jealous of that.

I liked Bama basketball under Wimp.
