Doubt I'll make it out, we'll be training instead for dem ribbons big round as a dinner plate (ya know, the ones you gotta ck in through customs on your way home). Rather train for one of dem than a whole tableful of orange ribbons, but dat's just me (hehe). travis

I believe the orange ribbon is for dogs who pass the junior hunter test. Not much of a challenge...Any hunting retriever worth his salt should be able to do it. That being said...that is what I am running my dog in. Will move up to Senior next fall. I believe Sr. and Master has different color ribbons. I am new to the hunt test game so some of you more experienced guys enlighten us please.

No Here, if you are just mustering up blue ribbons you must either be one of the best dog trainers next to Mike Lardy or have some exceptional dogs? I did not think that it was just that simple to get Blue. I will admit that I have never run a field trial, but have been to quite a few. With more than 100 dogs in the open at the Cattle Ranch a few weeks back, it just did not seem that simple to get a 1st. Open, Amateur, Derby, or whatever class you might run, it just doesn't seem that way.

I still don't think a blue ribbon is as hard to muster up as finding a tree chance can retire behind! bwhahahaha. Its still funny second time I said it! travis
