too wet to work yesterday so i grabbed the daiwa spin-cast, a tube of crickets and a float and headed to Tippah Lake where i shared a pier with two elderly black ladies.. these two women had me in tears all eve. the oldest {91} showed me how to make a 100 yard cast, 45 yds. up, 10 across and 45 yards down...{bait still on pier}.. we had a big time and litterally caught buckets of bream.... i brought home 10 that were as big as i have ever caught...let the ladies have the rest.. everyone was doing well on bass and catfish...
they lowered the water last winter and built gravel beds, pallet structures and brush piles... you can go in the office and they have a map with the location of these new structures, even have gps numbers... a really clean and beautiful place to stay and bring family....
three miles north of Ripley off Hwy 15...
may go back this eve....

just call me the PERCH JERKIN JUDGE.. had to go back today.... action was not as hot as yesterday but i still faired well... poncho and rain gear a must... got that left over in the 85 SUV from duck season.. if i only had the two black ladies i would have faired well.. Scooter, i caught several red eared shell-crackers that went a pound and a half.... a so called professional fisherman from Shelby Co. said "we have got to get some pictures, they are close to a state record bream".. i never told him different... when i left he had went an got a tube of crickets and was HOG huntin....

wind out of the north, rain, and coolin temps were not good... the lake was fillin up with boats and campers as i left... come any day of the week and have the lake to your-self.....

at one time the state record bass, blue-gill and shell-cracker came from this lake... several cats over 30 lbs have come from there last summer.... come down and join me and see what we get...
