Hines Ward mentioned "Forest Park High School"...not UGA....

played against him in High School (he was 1 year behind me), he was a heck of an athelete at QB and pretty tough, he could take a lick too....

noticed a lot of other players this year also mentioning their HS

on one hand I kind of like it, I mean it brings back to earth the fact that they played high school ball in possibly some small town just like some of the youngsters that might be watching...takes it from the sureal to the real

on the other hand there are those that didnt attend college or couldnt for whatever reason and it might slight the true benefits of a college education for the same group of young people

Rick Cleveland wrote a little tidbit about the University of South Panola earlier this week. Good for him to use MS in his Superbowl coverage.

Yeah. Here's one: Hines Ward was a cheap shot artist when he played in college.

Was he like that in HS?

webb, good to see you back---now, who pissed in your cheerios?

start us a good topic of discussion

Actually no one pissed in my Cheerios, but my Special K seemed a little stale.

When I mentioned the relevance, I was refering to tweedle dee and tweedle dum stating that Townsend "slighted" his college. That has nothing to do with anything. If anything, its a reminder that Alabama gets all of MS best athletes, and it appeared to be an inside joke, as even I have heard Panola High refered to as a college.

Hines Ward took a lot of cheap shots in college. Just ask Jimmy Brumbaugh from Auburn. Thats not to take anything away from his toughness. Just a fact.

Does anyone else have their panties in a wad?

Folks refer to South Panola as South Panola University because of its dominance in high school football. The people in Batesville and the surrounding communities frequently use such a term to describe SP.

It is amazing the talent produced out of that high school. This year was an off year for senior Div. 1 prospects at SP. The next two years, at least, will produce a bumper crop. Lots of good prospects.

I did not see the SB introductions ---was outside dranking and grilling.

last time I played against Hines he wasn't a cheap shot artist...but, he was layin' on his backside .... 'course we see who's in the NFL now....
