1/2 lab 1/2 golden retriever

Postby jc » Thu Feb 02, 2006 9:53 am

I have a chance to obtain a dog that is 1/2 lab and 1/2 golden retriever. Does anyone have any information that I could use to help me in this decision about to get it for a duck dog or for a house dog. I have had labs all of my life and love the way they work when duck season opens. Will this type of dog be the same or will it be totally different to train this type of dog. Any info will be a great help.

One of the best dogs I have ever owned was 1/2 lab 1/2 golden. Worked just like a lab but was calmer than a lab. Did not chew my house up either

I had a male that would hunt all day, duck, doves, quail, had his on chair in the house. The back seat of the suv belonged to him. Jake was a good dog, easy to keep, soft mouth, an would listen to you, when you talk to him. I say "go for it" I think you will be happy with that combo.

We've got a male that is about a year old that we got from someone in Hattiesburg after Katrina hit, and he's been a great dog so far. We named him Kat to toughen him
