I got some band info back on a mallard killed a few weeks ago. The bird was banded as a first year duck. It was banded in Maryland. GET THIS IS WAS BANDED IN 1975. YEP YOUR NOT SEEING THINGS.

well that would be the oldest duck on record, because i think i saw where the oldest duck was 29 so thats pretty sweet!

There are some old timers around Greenwood that never reported their bands from the 50's-80's era. They have been catching ducks in live nets and banding them with the old bands just to mess with some duck hunters heads and piss off the USF&WS. :wink:

I can't imagine. That duck almost outlived me and I haven't been shot at for 30 years. :lol: Rocky, if it's for real, that is truly amasing. That would shatter ALL records on age. I know he wasn't sporting a grey beard but did the duck look any different than any other?
