Benelli SBE II issue

Just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with their sbe II chambering a follow up shot? On more than one occasion this season I have had a follow up shot end up hanging out the breech with the bolt closing on it rather than loading into the chamber. Noticed it mainly with 3" HS Hevi-Shot. Shot some 3.5" winchester early on and didn't notice a problem. Probably shot about 1/2 a case through it so far. Another guy in our club has had a similar problem wiht his. Anyone else encountered this?
Thanks..

i"ve noticed with my sbe and with my franchi that the heavy shot produces more build up and requires cleaning more often. I have no reason as to why this is other than my observation. I have to clean mine after about 100 rounds or it does not opperate smooth.

I have noticed the hevi-shot produces more residue and once thought that may have something to do with it but this past weekend, the gun was clean and still failed to chamber a follow-up shot (that was just about straight up over my head). I was left with no second shot and half a shell hanging out of the breech. Going to attempt to contact Benelli's customer service tomorrow but from what I've read in the past, I don't expect that to go too well.

Solution -
Toss that SBE in the trash and pick up one of those new Extrema 2's

Never had a problem with the SBE. Shot it for 6 years. Just the new SBE II.

my SBE will NOT shoot a 3 in shell. does what you're talkin about every time. I have shoot 3 1/2's. don't know why that is.

I have shot nothing but Hevi-Steel 3" #2's 1 1/8 oz, not Hevi-Shot, out of my new SBE II and it has not missed a lick.

I'm glad to hear it will shoot 3" with no problem. I was afraid there might be an issue with them. I just got off the phone with Benelli USA's customer service. Gonna send it back first of next week and let them take a look at it. I don't feel too 'safe' when the bolt slams shut on a live shell with the business end hanging out the breech less than 12" from my face.

I haven't had any problems with mine. I shoot 3" or smaller in it and it's been smooth shooting for every shot. I do oil & clean it on a regular basis though.

Don't worry, it won't get thrown away. Gonna take it to the skeet range this weekend and shoot a couple of rounds through it to see if I can duplicate the problem with 2 3/4" loads before I send it back to Benelli next week.

Talking bought wieght a couple buddys of mine hunted thru a tornado last year the only one that lived was the buddy with the Browning that gun was so heavy he just hung on to it altho his right arm is three inches longer now from carring it to the blind.
Im digging my SBE 2 I have put 1oz 1/8 loads thru it no trouble aswell as several boxes on 3" and 3 1/2's another member bought the Extrema 2 his has had a jam or two with 3.5's but is still very new...

I have heard of a lot of people having problems with them and the berreta too. I sugest a different brand if you are going to shoot and auto. You know they are made by the same people. My browning never stops unless I shoot estate shells. Ofcourse they suck booty. You guys should try a pump or a double gun. autos are not made for mud and water and such. At least not the benelies and berretas.
