Worms in Wood Duck on Tombigbee

I remember last month a thread on worms in ducks. And now a wood duck that i killed last Sunday on the Tombigee in Alabama had them. It was pretty obvious that something was wrong with this breast of meat. It looked completely different from any other ducks that I have breasted out. little hard white things that looked like maggets were all over the breast. they seemed to brush off pretty easy but when you cut into the breast, you could tell that something was still wrong. Any one else seen this, esp. in alabama. Any other info would be interesting and helpful.
Thanks

Be careful. If you touch the worms you can become infected through osmosis.

Not in Alabama but, have killed two Mallards in MS this year that were infected. Both were some of the larger Mallards that were shot each day. I personally had not seen this infection until this year.

one website i went to said they are perfectly safe for humans and another said not to eat them. Got a buddy that has been hunting ducks for 40 years and he says he has eaten a bunch of them like that. said a little more protein won't kill ya. i personally throw them sumbitches in the garbage.

I've seen it before. Talked to a game warden in Brinkley, Ar. about it the first time I saw it. He told me they were worms and they were safe to eat. It's not for me though.
