I killed a black duck this past weekend and was curious what is some of your ideas for mount position?
If some animals are good at hunting and others are suitable for hunting, then the Gods must clearly smile on hunting.

had a black mounted similar to this pic above

head on mine was facing more to the side, but it was a great mount

I took it to Pat Pitt in OB and told him to do what ever he felt was "right"

that guy is an artist and the black duck is a beautiful bird

That's the one I like the best. :wink: I like sitting mounts better usually than flying ones but just my .02 :roll:

I took that exact pic to my taxidermist the other day. I have a mottled/mallard cross with him now and a widgeon in the freezer that is going shortly.

I also like the standing mounts as much or better than flying. Both of these boys will be standing or swimming if I can figure out exactly how I want the swimming mount done.
