Recoil spring

Postby Big Lou » Fri Apr 05, 2002 1:52 pm

No doubt that sure shot is the way to go! I have put mine through hell and back hunting flooded timber about 90% of the time and being so short my gun is usually under water a quarter of the way. I have no rust problems and clean it is a breeze! I would recomend it to anyone. I have bought all the assesories that they had to offer for my SBE and it has made a world of difference in its performance.

Recoil spring

Postby DR.DUCK2000 » Sat Apr 06, 2002 12:48 am

I have read you guys' posts in the past talking about the recoil spring that is in the stock of Benellis. I did not realize my BGH had a similar spring in the stock. I was just ignorant about how exactly the gun operated. When I took it apart on Feb. 1. I cleaned the crap out of it...I thought. Got the gun out last night in preperation for a little turkey hunting this wknd, I couldn't get the action to open all the way. I investigated and found out that I had neglected probably the most critical place to clean. Tried to clean and oil it and the spring got jammed dwn in the stock of the gun and I couldn't get it to let loose. SO took it this A.M. to Dave Swann and he said no problem. The reason for this post is twofold. #1-Hopefully yall can learn from my mistake. #2-Is the Sure Shot replacement stainless steel spring the way to go on this in the future? Some of you with more knowledge on guns than I, help me out.

Do all auto shotguns have a similar spring?
