Just curious whether the majority was for or against DU I know they do some shady things( or so Im told) , but I look at it like this there main thing is conserving wetlands and to me that out weighs the bad.

Their main thing is NOT conserving wetlands, and hasn't been for a very long time. They have become nothing more than a for-profit corporation that serves to support itself using wetlands conservation as a front to dupe the naive.

for DU!

I tend to believe DU is in it for the $! Hell who the F isn't, but if they can conserve and control things on a Congressional level us crumb grabbers may benefit from it in the long run. Without them peta type folks would have waterfowl hunting by the niz-uts! I'm for it-for what it's worth???!

Every time I read these bullcrap threads on support DU or not pisses me off. Everyone that reads this wouldresearch what they have done there would be a different out look on DU. Yes they do help the ducks, BIGTIME. They have just got a bunch of dummies on the payroll trying to run it. I have thrown in the towel as vol. because of these idiots.

When I was 5 years old my dad entered me in the local DU chapter duck calling contest. For 26 or 27 years after that I was a huge supporter and sponsor of DU. NOT ANYMORE!!!!. This my freind is a fact. Sure they have bought and conserved wetlands for ducks, geese, coots, ect. On the other hand they're also the reason duck hunting in the southern states has sucked the past couple of years. People can blame the lack of snow and sub zero weather if they want to. But if your a duck that just arrived at a 750 acre spread in southern Illinois with all the food you can eat and 2 miles away from the nearest hunter, why fly to Mississippii?

Only a total freaking moron is anti-DU. And yeah, I will tell that to you to your face.

Who has done more good for ducks than DU?

Go ahead and answer me, I'm waiting. And I will be waiting a long time, 'cause the answer is NOONE.

I am proud to be a sponser of Delta, DU and Waterfowl USA.

If your hunting has sucked the last few years, you ain't doing something right.

If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

Yeah, DU has done a lot for ducks, but not for duck hunters. Issuing grants for water pipes in the midwest, creating non-huntable refuges, and promoting no-till farming is changing the way ducks migrate. Who the hell made them God anyway?

As I post this reply, obviously 45% of the viewers disagree with the way DU had managed their lands. Also Phil Robertson aka. The Duck Commander has spoken numerous times about the same thing. I firmly agree with Mr. Robertson in the fact that DU should open there wetlands to a lottery hunt maybe twice a week. That way the birds will not just sit there and get fat. And all duck hunters should be able to apply for the lottery draw, not just the millionaires who control DU.

From the look of things, the USF&WS is making a pretty good showing in that area!!! DW is making a pretty good move to.

I think DU can be summed up best by this statement someone sent me "This has resulted in an organization that has reached its' useful lifespan. In 1937, they had a good purpose and ideas....but that is all history today. "

Not everybody can afford ta BUY the best duck hunting!!!!!!!

GulfCoast wrote:If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.
Exactly, and duck stamps and DW are THE solution!

Actually when you consider that every dollar they get would be better spent someplace else, they don't!

That is a very, very interesting question.
