Why a female? If you go male you don't have to worry about heat cycle during hunting season or during a hunt test.

I don't really know just like female dogs better. Don't get me wrong I'm not completely ruling out males. Just prefer females.

i got one of rowdys females and it is an awesome pup. turned 9 weeks today took her with me huntin last weekend and she slept through all the gunfire. if i were u id get that rowdy pup left from what i have heard he carrys a good bloodline. Im glad i got mine

Slept thru the gunfire????? Sheez, I got the runt male (onery) and he wont sleep thru the night, let alone someone actually doing something! travis
