Gun question.

Postby driveby » Sun Nov 27, 2005 8:39 pm

I may be looking at a new shotgun purchase. I like the looks of the Extrema II but not the price. A dealer in my area has last years Extrema in black that he will let go at what sounds like a good price because he's had it on the shelf too long. It's a 26 inch barrel but i would prefer a 28. He will let me buy it for $805.00. Is this a good deal? Is there any difference in the Extrema and the Extrema II other than trigger pull and forearm thickness? It being black will it be any less corrosion resistant on the metal parts?

Buy that sucker as fast as you can. The differences between the two you've already stated. That 26" Ex will swing like any other 28" barrel gun because the receiver is longer.

I agree. That is 200 or so cheaper than i got mine for three years ago. I think the debate over stiff trigger pull is absolute crap. It isn't a rifle. When you finger is on teh triger it is go time.

No, the stiff trigger pull issue was legit. I mean you had to pull pull the trigger for the gun to shoot, pull was like 3X more than the standard trigger setup for a shotgun.

The trigger pull was a HUGE issue. On my Xtrema, you would have to pull the trigger so far that you thought it was broken, then it would go BANG unexpectedly.

You ever wonder why people who shoot for money are so ticky about thier triggers......

Bought an Extrema 2. Love it. Mine has the 28" barrelbut wish I had got the 26. Put it side by side withan 870 with a 28 and its about 4 inches longer.

the extrema and extrema 2 have the exact same shooting mechanisms. as you said the only difference is the stock and the grips on it. you can buy the kickoff for about $150 and you will then have the extrema 2. my extrema shoots fine as far as the trigger goes.
