Turkey Decoys!
I am just curious to who uses them or not. I am going to give the Ole Longbeards a try this weekend. I haven't been able to do much Turkey Hunting the last 5 years b/c of Baseball. Now that I am through with school the birds better beware. hehe

It depends on the site and situation whether I put them out or not. If I am set up on a food plot or a large flat I will try to put them up if possible. If I am on a little woods road I usually dont use one.
One thing a buddy of mine and I learned the hard way. If you set out a hen you need a jake decoy nearby. We had a longbeard coming too us 1 time and he saw the hen and just locked up and strutted back and forth. My buddy uses a jake decoy alone a lot of times now. I never have though. Good luck on your turkey hunt this weekend.

I use them, I like knowing I have one, have had it make a big difference sometimes and not a difference at all other times. Also have had it scare a bird before, all are possibilities with decoys, but I feel for the most part they work, I like Jake dekes, but hunt too much public land to add one to my spread.

I put my robo duck inside my jake decoy. Should bring them in from about 500 yards. Can't wait to give it a try.

i have several turkey decoys. I put them all out (the more the merrier). In my opinion when the tom comes to the calling if there aint nothing there he will know something is up and will stop short. believe me those things can pinpoint your location with extremely good accuracy from hundreds of yards away. now how they do that I don't know, but they can.

Lucky, The best thing I say you can do is put out a spread of about three dozen hen dekes. Put on a Turkey costume and strut around them. If there is a gobbler around your going to scare the hell out of him but if you dont get shot by another redneck onlookers will get a great laugh.
Come on back to O-town and we'll get after a bird. Not like above but I bet it will be fun anyway.
