What is the difference between the AL390 and the 390 that Wally World is selling if any?

Same gun...although there is a difference between the 390 and 391. The 391 has a magazine cut-off and stock shims...the wal-mart 390 does not. GC correct me if I am wrong. Great Gun.

It is my understanding the the ones the Wally World has are the last ones the Berreta had. Once the 391 came out Wally world bought out the remanding stock and are selling them through their retail stores. The cost is about 300 less than what you would find at some place like Bass Pro Shop or Buck and Bass. I have runn approx a case of shells through mine so far and have not had one bit of problem with it, I do not think you could go wrong if you are planning on getting one. The Wal-Mart on Charlotte Pike in Nashville has 1 in stock and two on order. Price is roughly $530.00

Dr. Duck is right. After the old parts were used up, Beretta comissioned another run which you may see stamped "3901."

I've recently asked the same question to gun dealers and they tell me there are some improvements with the 391 but no major differences. Shoot...for $529 dollars you can't get a better deal. I've heard nothing but great things about the 390. If you want reliability and a good price for an auto... look no further. I recently picked one up myself...most of the Wal-Marts here in Memphis have at 1-2 in stock. I was told after they're gone that's it. Good luck.

I was told that Baretta no longer makes the 390. If so why do the Wally Worlds have them on order? Is the 391 the better gun?

My A390ST & AL390 SilverMallard(s) had the magazine cutoff & gold triggers..the latter weighed a few ounces less primarily due to wood being trimmed out of the forend.
Have looked at the WalMart gun(s) which lack mag. cutoff, gold trigger, etc.
What concerns me is how they can sell them for ~$150 less than the AL390 SilverMallard unless there's some shortcuts with the internal parts.
Given WalMarts' propensity for having (other) name brand merchandise manufactured to their (lesser) specifications I'd be reticent to trust this gun is the same quality as the original(s).
One of the gun shops here in Tulsa usually has 3-4 used SM's in the rack for $475-575..asked Kevin why..he said so many guys are bringing them in as trade on 3.5" (SBE/Extrema) guns..might be the best way to get one..at least you will know it was made to manufacturer standard specifications..good luck.
