Just wonder what kinda array of calls you guys use, somthing too talk about anyway. I stand behind a mallardtone II on the close in and use a big river or rich and tone on the Hail. Somtimes they work somtime they dont. Is it the ducks or me

I like my rich-n-tone and I really like my Wiley's. I have a single and a double and both work well. Now if I could preform as the calls are capable it would be great.

You know o' Tom Wiley is an RN in Starkville that started making his original calls out of clear surgical tubing. I still hunt with the original I bought from him 4 years ago at the wildlife extravaganga. He now uses a mold and they are flexible green calls. I also like Geg Hood's calls from Clarksdale.Southern game calls is his trade name.

I use a Rice Country Call, it is made by the farmer we lease our land from in Arkansas. It is single reed thats not screaming loud. I use a RNT for a loud screaming hail call, once they turn I pick up the rice country. Last year they didnt turn much. My 2 cents

I like to use the Big Guys call to hail at em' and when they turn I pick up the old wooden duck commander and sweet talk'em in. I just did'nt talk sweet enough this year though. HEHEHEHEHE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like the call my wife makes that goes like, "Honey, dinner's ready!"
I try new calls all the time. I liked a single-reed R-N-T but keep getting mad when it sticks (I've tried all the tricks). Fact is I keep going back to a cheap plastic Sure-Shot that sells for about $12 and it still sounds better and works as well as any I've tried. They are throw-away calls...when one gets out of tune, forget about it, you can't retune those babies (I've tried) so throw it away and pick up a new one. A friend gave me a Duck Commander plastic call for Christmas that I'm beginning to be able to use and make it sound good, so I look forward to seeing how it works with ducks next year. For twenty years, I was a die-hard Yentzen triple-reed man.

I kept three calls on my lanyard this year. My main call is a Miss Mallard clear acrylic tuned raspy, high and loud. If it's calm, or ducks are shy, I use a Miss Mallard ebony with a sweet talking low end. Last call is a plastic Primos speck call that I finally learned how to blow this year. I saw more geese than ducks (unless you count shovelers) so this call got a workout.
I like to blow Miss Mallard calls because I know the call maker (he's a nice guy). Other than my own, I prefer a Rich N Tone.

I learned on a Mallardtone, and after that, I used a Chick Major Dixie Mallard for a few years. In 1978, I bought a Hambone call (made by C.H. Amaden of Lonoke, Arkansas and now deceased, I believe). I have blown the Hambone call ever since and have no desire to change.

We use a lil cute blonde haired, blue eyed cocktail waitress from the casino. Dont sound like a duck much but the look is good.
Hell, maybe why we didn't kill many ducks and why everybody wants to hunt with us.

I'm the complimentary caller in our group--filling in the gaps around the good caller.
Like when on Andy Griffith, they told Barney he could sing a solo and then put him in front of a microphone that didn't work to minimize the damage.
When I do call, I use a Haydel Redleg or my trusty Yentzen as a back up for soft calling when they're down low.

Haydel's, Haydel's, Haydel's, it is loud, it is quiet, it is raspy, it is sharp. It sounds however you want to make it sound, it is a killer. It is 16.00. If it breaks, throw it away. There isn't a better HUNTING call.

A Yentzen made in 1965, and it still sounds great, and trust me it is the call because with anything else, I do nothing but flair them.
