Lab ear infection

Postby HankyPanky » Thu Oct 13, 2005 8:55 pm

My lab has what seems to be a never ending ear infection and was wondering if anyone else has seen problems like this before. He has black "BEARDED CLAM" that builds up daily. I clean it and put in drops that the vet gave but it doesnt go away. Two trips to the vet and it still not much help. I need to have my sisters golden that will lick my lab's ear clean every time he sees him.

Gross! Not a pretty picture first thing in the morning! If your vet has seen the dog and given meds and it still won't go away, I'd go to another vet. Something has to be causing it that isn't be addressed.

This is a link to a great ear wash, works very well for keeping my dog's ears clean: http://www.woodhavenlabs.com/ears.html

Have you considered changing his food? Per advice on this forum I switched Eagle Pack Holistic food and its great. My dogs allegeries have disappeared and his coat is superb.
