Interesting Weekend in the SEC

1st: UGA took a big step forward toward the East crown by beating UT in Knoxville. As much as I really hate saying this, "I told you so".
The UT team that I saw last Sat. v Ole Miss had a very good defense, but an anemic offense, almost as bad as UM's offense ----almost, not quite. Certainly not a top ten team. The Vol meltdown has started and it will not be pretty. It will continue against the Tide in a couple of weeks. And after all the petty, classless pre and post game negative public comments made about UM and Coach O by UT Coach "Ful-of-schit", it couldn't happen to a better bunch.
2nd: MSU played a pretty decent first half, until special teams play, especially in the punting game (returns and punts), ruined what could have been a close ballgame to the end. Poor special teams play and a few ill timed penalties gave Florida all the boost and edge they would need to put the game away well before the end of the 3rd quarter. Tough break for Conner --- he will sore for a while with that bruised chest. Nice run by J. Norwood ---- he is one tough running back and has shown that he can play through pain and still perform well behind even a weak OL, getting a lot of yardard on his own. He should be one of the first RBs taken in the NFL draft ----I would take him over D. Williams of Memphis.
3rd: Tide had an off week and should be ready to invade Oxford, to pillage and plunder the Rebs, take siege of the Grove and campus, and steal the beautiful southern belles. BUT, will the SI jinx strike?? The Rebs will be ready to take a good shot at the Tide. Most everyone of the Rebs who has been injured is back or will be back in time for Sat. The game starts early at 11:00am. Could the Tide be overconfident and a little sluggish? UM has yet to play well in all phases of the game. Could this be the week the Rebs finally put it all together? I'm praying for rain, high wind, and miserable playing conditions. That, combined with a P Willie led Rebel D, may be able to slow down the Tide offense enough for our pitiful offense to keep us in the game. Probably not.
4th: Nice win by LSU over a scrappy Vandy team. LSU looks like they are starting to gel. Gonna be fun watching upcoming matchups between LSU and Alabama, and LSU and Auburn. Looks like a toss up at this point.
5th: Hogs and Rebs had wins over lesser opponents. Not much to brag about. Just glad its over and no embarassing loss.
Ready for the second half of the season.
