Good People

Rare is the times when you get the chance to meet good people anymore, especially in big cities. I got the opportunity to talk to Delta Duck this morning and I can tell he is one of those rare fellas. We talked for almost an hour, even though we never met!

Sounds like he and I have walked down the same road at differnet times, or we would have bumped into eachother before. He has a house on a lake that I would sit and look at from my fishing boat and wish I had a place like that. He held out before marriage almost as long as I did too! Found out we both have little girls near the same age. I hope we can take them fishing together some time this year.

Delta Duck is one of the original locals that has tromped through the swamps of the Delta before the bright lights of the casinos came in. Now he is living the life of Reily while I chose another fork in the road, and sit here at my computer at work, hoping the market will turn around. I envy you DeltaDuck, hope to see you this weekend at the Wildgame Cookoff.

Captn, interesting post -- seeing that in a conversation I recently had, your name and quality / great guy / class act were all put together.

There seems to be a bunch of really good guys on this forum. Allot of class. Guys that would go out of their way to show a fellow hunter a great time, even if it cost them $$ personally, and a weekend away from their family. We are blessed that this computer has been able to bring some of us together - from all over the south. We would have never met otherwise.

Yes, boneheads abound every place you go. But isn't it wonderful, in negative days we live in today, to be able to rub shoulders with the good decent moral guys that are still the backbone of our country.

CaptnT,
Thanks for the kind words, What CaptnT forgot to tell was that house on a lake was a one room shack on the water. I don't know who Riley is, but the good Lord has blessed me with a wonderful life and wife, a 17 year old step son that thinks Me and his mother have STUPID written across our foreheads, Every morning when I get up I give a 7 year old baby girl that loves to be with me and a sweet baby girl that will be three in June a kiss and thank the good Lord. The 17 year old doesn't like for me to kiss him in the mornings anymore. I love to farm and be outdoors.
