I've been watching Nascar for a long time and remember going to Talladega on the day of a race and getting tickets no problem for $22.(mid eighties) I was a long time fan of Dale Earnhardt. Naturally, I like Jr., but since the loss of Dale Sr., I find myself rooting for drivers that I normally didn't care for. Including the 24 team. I know money buys good cars and crews, but I was very impressed with the young Jimmie Johnson during qualifying. I also like the new rule taking effect next week that only allows one motor for qualifying and race day.

Aw man, I loved Moondog Spot and Moondog Rex with the big freaky white beards. There used to be a Moondog King, but he got died when he got hit chasing a car, so they say. I liked it when they would whack some dude over the head with the big soup bone, too.

...and Dutch Mantell used to claim he was from Oil Trough,Tx...but, I think he was really son of BigFoot--that was one hairy goomer. We could have a sidebar discussion about a whole host of other characters....but, then again, aint this supposed to be duck board? Oh, well since the ducks let us down this year, might as well ramble on until next season.

Got my sights set on finding some crappie and playing some golf until then.

I've got to add in my three cheers for the Roush Racing Team of Mark Martin, Kurt Bush, Jeff Burton and Matt Kenseth. Looks like the Roush teams have some work cut out for them this week though - the Fords just aren't fast enough right now to hang with the Chevy & Pontiacs.

Damn, I was hoping it was gonna be a few more weeks before we were gonna have to watch that BS !!! Round and round, and round, and round, and etc....... Ducks are the only thing I'll watch go in circles that many times.
