Hey for all you guys that remember me and becky we are back with a problem. We must be in the jackson area this wed. thru fri. The only accomodations we found are at the Leflure Bluff campground. The only problem with this is that Becky will not stay in a tent and neither of us have a camper. So if anyone has any strings to pull at a hotel or have a camper that can be lent we will greatly appreciate. Otherwise we will be in the back of her durango.

Have you tried any hotels in the surrounding area of Jackson? I'm thinking Ridgeland, Madison, Canton, gonna be hard pressed to find a room IN Jackson. Most hotels will lie and say that they don't have rooms, but they do. All hotels usually hold 3-5 to CTA, that way they don't overbooked reservations and have to pay to send them somewhere else. Our hotel here in south la held our room the entire time we were gone during the hurricane plus a couple more to be on the safe side.

All I know is...we have been on phone all day trying to find a pop up or a hotel. They said next closest were Tupelo or Starkville...we have testing 8-8, so it will be a long day...Dont really wanna have to drive FAR!! I guess we are gonna try a tent. Im hoping by Thurs...someone in our class will offer to let us stay with them! I hate Camping!!

I wouldn't recommend staying in a hotel in holmes county, that's for sure.

You might want to try the comfort inn at Yazoo City. I think it's like a 40 min drive to jacktown.

I don't know. I know a bunch of people from NO are leaving the Jackson area starting today to see what's left of their homes, letting people in certain sections of nawlins back in for a day or two, probably will be right back after this new hurricane gets into the gulf.

LeFlure's has cabins/villas too. I presume you checked them?

What about the cabins at Roosevelt? Not that far from Jackson........

Other than that, gas up to Durango, crank up the AC, and make the best of it

I do not want to contract West Nile or be abducted from the campground. I really just want to find a pop up or cabin, so we dont have to sleep in a tent. I would miiuch rather sweat it out in the Durango and watch movies...than sleep in a tent. We will be tired after class anyway.

Well, to be honest neither of you need to camp out or stay in your cars with all the refugees from nawlins in the jackson area, expect the crime rate has increased some since the hurricane hit.

this is a long shot, but try some of the locally owned hotels... like:

Clinton Inn
(601) 924-5313
400 Highway 80 E
Clinton, MS 39056
