Gonna get me a new pair of binoculars pretty soon and was wondering if any of yall have seen or had any experience with the Tasco EXP 10x42. Had a fellow at one of my hunting camps that bought a pair and he loved them and was bragging away. Told me to put them up to my best friends Swarovski's and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Well he was right, but that was in the middle of the day too, I was wondering if they were worth a flip in low light conditions. I hunted with my buddies swarovski's one after noon and when it got dark you could still see with them babies. I just through my old binoculars to the side cause they done with about 15 minutes before dark.
Now I cant afford the Swarovski but I was wondering what yalls experience was with the EXP's or another brand. Want to stay around $250.

I have a pair of Steiner Military/Marine and they are nice and essentially indistructable. I use them for work and play so I guess I could justify the cost...good investment for me. They run around $400-$500.

I have some Nikon Action 10X50s. I have been very pleased with them. I loaned them to my uncle one afternoon and he went and bought some the next week. Not a bad pair for around $125.

Try Zeiss they have close to Swarovski quality for a lot less money.

PEEWEE, Had a buddy to get a pair of EXP's this year. He really liked them. I looked through them one day,(like you, daylight and dark is two different subjects) and they were very clear in my opinion. But as far as clarity for price, it's a pretty good buy.

I use binoculars all the time for work. If you can afford it go with Zeiss or Swarovski. I have a pair of 10x40 Zeiss roof prisms and they are a steal at Cabela's for 699 right now. Yep, that's a hell of a lot of money but i promise you will not regret buying the best optics you can afford.
