In a large pot place onions, carrots,potatoes,and 2 large coots(plucked) Bring to boil and add an Oak log.
Cook for 6 hours Throw out coots and eat oak log!!!

you are right Webfoot.... i have a friend who has become quite prosperous in the timber business and he will take any Coot he can get his hands on....{ now this guy hunts Ark., Reelfoot and the delta} he loves Coots... i tried his recipe and it tasted like a Firestone Recall.... must have taste-bud cancer or somethin.... i can't do the coot caserole....

Y'all be missin out on sum damn good eatin, dem coots dat is, what y'all do wid dem thangs to makes'em taste so badly. Y'all mus' not be hoden yo nose corecctly or somin.
try cuttin dem gizzards up in slices real thin like after cleanin em out real good & cookin dem down real good wid de white beans & green onions. Dat be real good & yo stomack be thangin you for it for a day o mor fur sure.
Tak dem breast of de poule doux & grilled dem thangs jus like yo odder dux & u got yo'self some down right good eatin.
