Bandless!!!
Bandless!!!
My brother is a hard up quacker. He's been hell bent to kill him a band this year. Went hunting every chance he got. We had a pretty good season so he took all his patnas hunting with him throughout the year. The bad thing about it is that while hunting on 4 different occasions, someone else in the blind killed the duck with the jewels on! One of his boys killed a band two days in a row while with him. Boy, has he been a good Host or what? He's been gripin' like all hell!

Bandless!!!
sounds like my luck....... me and a buddy jumped a pair of mallards of the channel and as one flew by i told him to take it.... you guessed the rest of the story...
the good part is that he told everyone that i seen the hardware and let him have the shot.... well, i didn't see the band, but i will never tell the truth about it in Tippah Co....haha... was better than ever gettin a band......

Tell him I've been hunting these dang ducks for over thirty years and have killed only two with bands. All things considered, I can't say that I understand the chase of bands. Hey, if it happens, it happens!

Funny thing about Bands.
You either get them or ya don't
I have around 40 bands and my hunting partners little over a dozen each.
Don't mean as much to me as it use to but still fun to get. I have on several occasions removed one off of my lanyard and put it on a youths duck just to watch their excitement. Did that one time and the dang kid pulled it off when I wasn't looking and dropped it in the water.
One of my hunting partners said that ought to cure you of doing that and I told him the boy will always remember his first band and also remember loosing it. Worth it's wait in memories.
Bands prove nothing more than you were luckier than another for that day. And it is a good research tool for the Fed's

A few years ago my buddy and I had been duck hunting all morning long with out very much luck. We were on our way back to the truck and I see a pair of Mallards sitting on the water about 150 yard ahead of us. I told him to move on up about 30-40 yards and I'll sneak around em and jump em towards you. Well, I sneak about 200-250 yards around and jumpem up just like I said, they fly straight at my buddy, he picks out the GH and folds him up. When he picks it up all hell breaks loose "It's got a band, It's got a band!!!!! You would have though he won the lottery!!!!We report the band and it's the oldest duck I've ever heard of, banded 10 years and a few months before he killed it
