They should have given them the Death Pentaly, The punishment was too light.

Yea, Kentucky got the boot today too. 3 year probation, only 16 scholarships for next years recruiting class. This may not hurt the Dogs too much and may not make much difference for the eastern division...and all the coaching changes in the sec...Florida...Ole Miss (New Def. Coordinator), the sec is getting bad publicity from all these violations, and it could hurt the recruting for the sec in general. But, the deal at Alabama is a bad thing for the school but if you are a State fan...you love it!!

Now, before we go gettin' all excited about the Tide's punishment...let's remember that there is still time for Jackie to do something stupid with my beloved Dawgs! Seems there was this thing at SMU...

Alabama did get lucky, but lets face it the NCAA isn't likely to ever give out a death penalty to Alabama, Tenn, or any of the super powers, now Ole Miss and State, that is a different story. They would have canned either one of us. Jackie is pretty slick in his old age. I don't think they will be gettin' us for anything but you never can tell. When one school goes down there are usually more to follow..that whole he said, she said thing starts up and everybody is telling on everybody else. We have seen it before.

Yea its gonna be a shame when we go undefeated this year and we cant go to the SEC championship or the NC game, I guess we'll just have to wait 2 years. Crow...correct me if I am wrong, but I don't beleive Jackie had anything to do with SMU at any point.
As far as Alabama goes...I think the old saying goes "The NCAA got so mad at Alablama that they gave SMU the death penalty."
Personally I think it is bad PR for the SEC. I just hope they can get it on track up in Starkville this year.

Ole Miss or State does not need the ncaa to band them from a bowl. They will do that all by themself.

If you want to hear a funny story about SEC football and duck hunting check this out! I am probably the only Razorback fan on this board, but my best friend and hunting partner is die hard Ole Miss. Every year it is mass competition in the weeks leading up to the game. We hunt in Arkansas so at least while hunting I have some support. This year a bet was made that if Arkansas won my friend would become a "Hog" fan for a day. Well after the "7th Heaven" needless to say my friend was sick at best. The next day he was made to walk in to our favorite restaraunt (where we know the owner) wearing a Hog Hat, a strap on pig nose, and blowing his dog whistle screaming touch down Arkansas! Probably the hardest I've laughed in my entire life!!

To the OP, they could never punish Alabama enough to make state anything more than a classless joke. They will still be able to recruit the best of Miss. santions or no santions. Kids will still kill for the chance to play there. Tradition dies hard.

Bummer got what they had coming!! They should have gotten the "Death Penalty" IMHO

the NCAA did hammer them pretty good though. 21 schollies is big hit at any school. I don't think Bummer will find recruiting the best out of MS quite as easy as it has been in the past!!!
