Any one mounting a bird this year?

Postby go24 » Mon Jan 28, 2002 6:17 pm

With the season winding down, is anybody planning to mount a bird this year? I've got a bluewing teal that I'm debating over.

Those blue wings stay in eclipse plumage until so late in the year. If you kill one in breeding colors, put him on the wall. The judge is right, even in south La. we do not get a great deals of them in their true colors. Jack

Shoot them sprigs on their first pass!

I've currently got with the taxidermist:
1) Drake Pintail (my first)

3) Drake GW teal
4) Drake Widgeon (my first)
5) Specklebelly goose

All are thanks to Delta Duck!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Msu dawg I know how you feel. I'm having to dig deep this year for all the mounts.

1. Nice 6-point
2. 2 Bobcats fighting with a black squirrel in between them.
3. 2 huge Fox squirrels sitting on limb.
4. 1 Greater canadian goose flying.
5. 1 Speckle Belly cupped up coming in.
6. 1 Widgeon pitching in.
7. 1 Deer hide getting tan-doe that I killed that weighed 171. Huge slick head.
8. 2 wood ducks sitting on a piece of driftwood the male sitting there and the female prunning her wing.

One Pintail Drake and a big bobcat. Wish I had that big deer to go along and keep them company but not this year.

One male pintail. I know lots of people like cup mounts, but i prefer the jump mount going up the wall. Wallies taxy does a great job.

Duck Nawteek, you must live alone. Not many women would go for that taxidermy credit card that you're bound to have.

Good grief, Duck Nawteek! Your house is gonna look like the inside of Cabela's store.
Now all you need is the lion attacking the wildabeast.

Yeah I already got a mallard and a pintail and big 11 point on the wall in my living room and yeah I'm not married yet and my girlfriend isn't to happy about all these mounts but all I told her was when we get married I'll have a hunting room but until then it's all going in the living room. I want to get as much mounted as possible before I say "I DO" because I know that is over with after that. Oh and I got a Safari trip for next year so I might have that lion attacking the weildabeast. HEHHEHE just kidding guys.
