report of Last week (Wed - Tues)

Wednesday- cloudy and warm. Me, Munro and Lerch. 6 mallards, early.
Thursday - Me and Munro - pretty cloudy again. 7 mallards, 3 teal and a woodie. Things looking up.
Friday - Me, Munro, little brother and cousin. colder and not as cloudy. 16 mallards!
Saturday - Me Lerch and brother - 11 mallards
Sunday - Me, Munro, Lerch and Brother - poor hunt. same spot. 6 malards and 1 gadwall.
overall poor season. There were birds, but much fewer than everyone expected and, I think, much fewer than even in the past few years. They could be found and hunted, at times. This last week was only the second time this season we had consecutive limits from the same spot. On the third day this past week, the birds looked and went elsewhere.
One other very perplexing point: I DID NOT KILL ONE SINGLE GADWALL THIS YEAR! WHY? Only 3 were taken in my presence this year. We usually survive in the South Delta on Gadwalls early in the season. ANyone have any reasons for this, or is it just an abarition?
