no joke....PANTHER SIGHTING II..cont....

Postby walt333ms » Thu Jun 23, 2005 10:58 am

ok...IF YOU HAVE NOT READ ...THE FIRST PANTHER POST ...THEN GO THRU THEM...

LOTS OF COMMENT'S ...REPLY'S....CRITIZEM'S....ECT....

1.. ABOUT THE AUTHOR...(ME)....56 YEARS OLD....
BEEN HUNTING IN THE SOUTH DELTA FOR OVER 50 YEARS....WHEN MY DAD FIRST TOOK ME IN THE SWAMP...NO ROADS...NO WATER...VERY RUSTIC CAMP.....ALL THE SOUTH DELTA WAS CONTIGOUS FOREST... FROM WHERE STEEL BAYOU & YAZOO RIVER MEET...NORTH ALL THE WAY UP PAST HWY 1.... ALL OLD GROWTH HARDWOOD SWAMP...
ELEVATION 84--90 FEET ...
EVEN THE CORP CALLED THIS AREA " THE SLUMP"...THE LOWEST OF THE LOW>>>>

2...NO PICS OF THE " CAT" OR TRACKS.....
....IF PROOF EXISTED THEN I WOULD NEVER...NEVER...GIVE IT OUT ...TO ANYONE.....EVER......
LOOK WHAT JUST HAPPENED WITH THE IVORY BILL IN ARK.....THOUGHT EXTENT SINCE 1949....NOW FOUND...AND THE FEDERAL GOV.. JUST ANOUNCED A 15 MILLION DOLLAR EMERGENCY FUND TO PURCHASE AN ADDITIONAL 10,000 ACRES IN ORDER TO INCREASE THE HARDWOOD RESERVE WHERE IT WAS FOUND...

THAT 10,000 ACRES WILL BE TAKEN AWAY FROM FAMILIES AND CLUBS LIKE OURS THAT HAVE OWNED ....PAID TAXES...PROTECTED THE LAND FOR OVER 70 YEARS....

SO NO "PROOF WILL EVER COME FROM ME"

3... PEOPLE ON HERE THAT HAVE KNOWN ME...HUNTED WITH ME...( AND OLE SAM)... HAVE ALL AGREED THAT I SAW A VERY BIG CAT....AND INCLUDING ME...DONT KNOW WHAT IT WAS....

BUT WHAT HAPPENED WAS SO CLOSE 25 FEET AND WITH THE CAT STANDING DEAD STILL ON TOP OF A FALLEN TREE...COULD SEE ALL THE BODY HEAD AND MOST OF THE TAIL....IT STAIRED ME ....DID NOT MOVE..
COULD SEE HIS SHOLDER BLADES...COLOR CHANGES ...DARKER AT THE HIPS AND TOP OF THE BACK AND SHOLDERS....LIGHTER IN COLOR AROUND THE EYES......
STILL DONT KNOW IF IT WAS A YOUND PANTHER.....OR AN OFFSPRING FROM A DISCARDED EXOTIC PET....

SO GUYS THAT AGREE ...GREAT...THERE ARE BIG CATS IN MISS......

THOSE OF YOU WHO DISAGREE......
HOPE THEY DONT FIND A BIG CAT ON YOUR LAND AND PROVE IT..... CAUSE IT WON'T BE YOUR LAND ANY MORE....

TAKE CARE ....

UNCLE WALT
HUNT OVER AROUND MAHANNA, DELTA NATIONAL,VALLEY PARK, BELZONI, ISOLA, BENTON, EDWARDS,FITLER,

AND ANY WHERE ELSE THE DOG TELLS ME TO GO,.....

I don't know bout big cats, but I know you guys shouldn't be attacking him for what he saw. None of you are as high and mighty and all knowing about all things outdoors as you may think...why can't we all be friends??? and respectful of one another?

I'll answer my own question....Cause some people get a hard on thinking they know more about hunting or fishing or dogs or whatever, than their fellow hunters and friends. Makes you feel like you got a bigger wee wee!!!

It's makes you look like you got a little bitty wee wee!!!!

i believe that there here and had proof for several years. grandad even showed it to several people. from about 1989-1993 we had walk right down one of our turn rows every year. dad saw it trapping one morning and had a cast made of his track. funny thing was my dad had him timed for the annual trip through our place. he was moving through there with no longer than 3 day's of the last year. after he dug up the print and had it surveyed it was a panther track/ mountain lion. it hung up in our shop untill 1995 then deteriated.

several years ago my dad took a job on the river reworking the levee and spotted one numerous times. him and his boss were riding and both eye witnessed it. so yes i believe there here.

can someone, ANYONE, show me a post that was "attacking" the author???

just curious. camlock, i'm gonna assume you were directing your lil tyrade at me....that's kewl, all i was doing was disagreeing.....you seem to have a REAL problem w/ that....the other post was meant in pure jest. i thought it was funny and would get some laughs.

i was merely trying to add to the commentary by way of some websites and quotes from people that have studied the species or what have you...

walt, you saw "something" of that i have no doubt.....i do NOT, however, think it was a panther...that's my right, not saying i'm right or wrong, but i believe what I BELIEVE....i welcome you to do the same. if anything was taken from my post other than mere disagreement, you would be VERY WRONG...

camlock, please, i don't care if you think about "wee wee's" (big or small) ALL DAY LONG, but i'd rather not read about your perversions here, K?

more sightings

Postby Woodduckdawg » Thu Jun 23, 2005 12:32 pm

I used to hunt around Greenwood at the beginnings of the hills and a guy swore up and down he saw a panther. It actually scared him enough to come back to camp before dark has set in after his sighting.. Do I believe him, not sure. I believe there are big cats out there somewhere.

I can see them hiding in the delta woods too. Wouldn't surprise me a biit once one gets shot or at least photographed.

Does the town of Panther Burn have any animal related history? I thought I heard a story about the place, but can't seem to remember it.

u seem awefull perturbed for someone who's name wasn't even mentioned? He obviously felt attacked, or he wouldn't have started this second thread on the subject, I am responding to that, b/c I've been victim of it myself on this board, I know how he feels. I wasn't implying any post imparticular. You obviously feel as though you rubbed up mighty close to that line, or you wouldn't be getting so offensive. So you don't need to start being billy bad booty with me, you got issues figure that $#!+ out, I was trying to be little humorous and not personally attack anyone while stating my opinion, you would obviously can't do that...I guess I just implied you again huh? Wanna call me another name?

Seriously, I don't wanna continue this childish internet tough guy crap! I wasn't implying you, I was just stating a fact about people being attacked for their opinions or stories or whatever by smart asses on this board, cause it's happened to me and it's BS. This is a place for friends, not tough rednecks behind a computer. SOrry if you felt offended...
