My wife went to Philadelphia yesterday on business. Twice she was asked for any comments by, presumably, reporters. One had Illinois plates.

She declined. This will be in the news untils it's over, nothing good can come of it.

This is the most redicilous thing I have seen in a long time. They let michael Jackson go for melesting no telling how many people and now they are probably going to convict an old 80 year old man for something that happened 40 years ago. He did not do the shooting it is a know fact that the man that pulled the trigger is already dead. He was from Meridian. You are right he probably will not make it until the trial is over.

whats' bad is that it's seemibly "ok" that they let M.J. go... and O.J.....

however, if Killen is somehow found innocent (which i find unlikely, seems like they're trying to stack everything against him....) all hell would break loose with Jesse, Al, etc etc.....

How much time is our one C.S.I spending on this case I wonder?

News Flash:
This just in!! The body of Al. Capone was just found in the back forty of E. Killen's property in Philadelphia Ms. The FBI's Gangs and Terrorists Team is in route now. A spokeswoman for the Bureau has told reporters they had a feeling all along that Killen was tied to the Chicago Mobsters but now they have more evidence to put him away for a long time...

You can watch the trial live on court-tv. I saw 'em carry him out on a stretcher, just high blood pressure according to the report I saw.

This is all a waist of our time and MONEY. Just like the little boy that tried to swim across the Talla... River after he tied a gin motor to his neck. The guilty parties are dead and now they just want to make the minority happy, so whom ever they pin it on is screwed. (To put it nicely) Just hate to know that my last few good years on this earth I had to put up with this kind of political bull. They want to put MS history in the past but they keep pulling up this kind of publicity. My personal opinion they ought to lynch Jim Hood at high noon then let Trent Lott and Thad Cochran apologize for that.

Amen Brothas!!!!!! This is once again a ploy to keep "the man" down! There is no way that there is more evidence now that can convict Killen of this crime beyond a resonable doubt!! That was umpteen years ago!! You wanna move on stop bringing this chet up!! Was 40acres and a mule not sufficent... if not then I want my land back!! Maybe we should have hit the streets and flipped and burned down some buildings when the O.J. and M.J. verdicts were in!! WE ALL KNOW OJ DID IT... BLACK OR NOT!! There was more evidence in that case than if he would have video taped the killing himself and he walked!! Guess the Real Killers are avid golfers cause that is where he seems to be zeroing in on his determined search for JUSTICE!!!! As fo MJ... the parents of the boy should be in jail for even thinking of letting him spend the night with him!!!! What is the world coming to!!!!!!!!

This case is much different than the E. Teel case, as many of the participants and conspirators in the murders are still alive and free.

My best guess is that the case against Killen is the prosecution's best case against the still living suspects. Thus, it is likely a test case. If the case goes well for the prosecution and there is a conviction, then we will probably see others prosecuted as well.

Killen was almost found guilty of the federal civil rights crimes prosecuted in the 60s ----- only one juror refused to find him guilty because she could not send a "preacher" to jail. With that as a backdrop, it is hard to say that the system is being unfair to Killen. After all, he has lived free from prison for all these years. The evidence strongly suggests that he played a major role in the murders. One does not have to actually "pull the trigger" to be guilty of conspiracy to murder.

I am a bit surprised at the responses on this thread. If you were related to Schwerner, Chaney, and Goodman, or the black people who were murdered outside that church just for wanting to exercise their right to vote, would you not want justice, regardless of when? And most of the people in Philadelphia and Neshoba County want this horrible stain ( of doing nothing about these murders) on their community and county removed, even if some think it is too late. I don't think it is ever too late to do the right thing. And if enough evidence is presented against Killen for a jury to find him guilty, then he SHOULD go to prison, old or not. At least he is still alive. Schwerner, Chaney, Goodman, and the black people buried in that church cemetery cannot say the same thing. I would like to see some of you walk up to the families of these victims and tell them you think this is all a farce and a waste of time.
