Alright, we've all seen it. Ducks landing out in the few inches of water in the very edge of your field. How is the best way to hunt these ducks? Coffin blinds I know will work, but what about just lying on your back in the muck, without anything over your body? Do any of ya'll have any tips or tricks for this kind of hunting? Thanks.

We use to take plastic 55 gal drums cut the top off and then cut it completely in half (down the sides and across the bottom) and then bolt the two ends together to make it about 6 foot long and use that as a poor mans coffin blind

Get a 4x8 sheet of plywood cut it in half and go to walmart or the dollar store and buy 2 of those folding louge chairs like you use at the beach i think there only about 3 to 8 dollars and cover them with straw or some type camo and lay back and shoot ducks. We did this a couple of years ago and they worked great and was much cheaper than a coffin blind and we did not get wet the plywood kept the chairs from sinking in to the ground when you set them on top of it.Be sure to get some u shaped nails and nail the legs into he plywood so you dont turn over! And with this warm weather take some tanning lotion and wear your swimming trunks.

Mag, We are doing that type of hunting right now. We have been layying on fast grass and then rolling the grass on top of us. They haven't figured it out yet. I also use one of those finisher blinds they are kind of pricy but wotk well in those situations.

Find some cane, cut it down and pick your spot. Stand some up in the mud around where you are going to lay (not too tall), use the rest to cover up with. I did this years ago when I didn't have a boat, and it works like a charm, doesn't cost a red cent.

Yeah the cane does do the trick. I keep my wifes prunning shears in my blind bag to cut cane when we hunt down at Askew.

You can order a 5 foot camo fiberglass "sled" from Herters for $40 bucks, lay in it to stay dry, and cover up with fastgrass, etc.

Coffin Blind! The only way! Change the surroundings as little as possible i.e. height off the ground. They will notice dig out underneath the 55 gal 1/2 drum so that it is as close to ground level as possible. cover yourself with grass mats or what is aroun to use. Pop up with red in your eyes! Good luck!
